40 days with Jesus

This past Sunday we began an all church initiative called “Emotionally Healthy Spirituality,” based on the resource from Peter Scazzero. Our simple goal together is to grow in developing a deeper relationship with Jesus that will increase our ability to love others well.

We are embracing three crucial commitments during these 40 days:

  1. Carve out time daily to be with Jesus.
  2. Connect weekly with someone for discipleship.
  3. Commit to gather for weekly worship (in person or online).

The most important thing you can do is the first one – Carve out time daily to be with Jesus. We are providing a wonderful resource to help with this called “Emotionally Healthy Spirituality – Day by Day” by Peter Scazzero. It is a great resource that has morning and evening devotions called the “daily office” to help you spend time with Jesus. You can use alone or with another friend, family member, or mentor. We have copies available church, but you can also get the kindle version through Amazon. It is free if you have prime.

The second priority is to connect weekly with someone for discipleship. You can use the book above and share out of that, but Pastor Mark has also provided Discipleship Questions you can use each week. They are printed as in insert in the bulletin but you can also get them online on the Sermon page under each sermon. For your convenience you can access it here.

Let’s pray for each other these days. If 2020-21 has taught us anything, we can’t sit back and wait for things to change… what we can do is lean in to our relationship with Jesus and develop a deep relationship that will guide us regardless of what is going on around us.
